Project Overview

Pixel Parlor recently had the honor of collaborating with PORT and Fairmount Park Conservancy on a series of bold and playful illustrations that integrate with a set of custom benches and birdhouses for an exhibit at the 2021 Philadelphia Flower Show. The exhibit focuses on the flora, fauna, landscapes, and attractions of FDR Park as well as spotlighting upgrades that will be implemented via the new master plan for the park.

Our Approach

Our environmental design and illustration process was highly collaborative with the various stakeholders involved at each stage in the development. Each bench illustration was designed to incorporate elements from the master visioning plan for FDR Park and to showcase its importance within Philadelphia.

The Result

The benches were installed on location at the 2021 Philadelphia Flower Show. The bold, bright and playful colors and imagery helped showcase the variety of natural features FDR Park has to offer. The benches will remain in circulation throughout the park system as a highlight of the attractions of the parks and as a habitat for insects and birds.
